The company I work for does a lot of consulting / contracting for other, larger companies. The gist is that they snag some huge client and throw a bunch of the work down to us, for a cut of the loot. Turns out “cut” means something like 10%. So while I’m making $12/hr doing most of the work, the company who let the work trickle down is making roughly $100/hr. Granted, it takes a lot of money to run a huge corporation, but would an extra $5-$10/hr for the lowly child laborer in a Utah codesweat be so much to ask? Guess so.
Looks like we’re road-tripping to see Pearl Jam on September 1st in George, Washington at The Gorge. After the show, I think the plan is to cruise up to Vancouver for a day or two (if anyone wants to donate tickets to the PJ show in Vancouver feel free, fearable at gmail.com heh) to check out the sights. Then we’ll head out like Saturday and enjoy a drive down the west coast (perhaps to act out our rendition of Given to Fly) until we are able to drive straight east to Salt Lake City. This is going to rule =)
